iconMay 16th, 2012

BBVA Compass Stadium will be a state-of-the-art, open-air stadium designed to host Dynamo matches as well as additional sporting and concert events. When it opens in 2012, the 22,000-seat stadium will be the first soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer located in a city’s downtown district.

Spectators will be able to experience unobstructed views from both the lower and upper seating bowls, which are supported by a single concourse. The concourse provides full access around the stadium with easy access to concession and toilet facilities. The fan experience will be enhanced by modern sound and video elements throughout the stadium. Fully integrated broadcast facilities will allow viewers and listeners to feel part of the atmosphere.

Wild. Crazy. Ridiculous.

These might be some of the words that likely crossed your mind when you found out what happened in Wednesday night’s Dynamo-Arabe Unido Champions League duel down in La Chorrera, Panama.

I say duel because apparently that’s what it was.

On the surface, it looks like another plain 1-1 tie, a good result for the Dynamo considering it was an away game in CONCACAF play.

First-place Houston enters match on 11-game unbeaten streak

LOS ANGELES GALAXY vs HOUSTON DYNAMO
THE HOME DEPOT CENTER, Carson, Calif.
June 28, 2009

One of the high-profile matches of the season is ahead on a rare Sunday night ESPN2 matchup as the MLS overall leader Houston Dynamo travel to The Home Depot Center to take on the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Dynamo tied their club record with an 11th consecutive league game without a loss last weekend, though it took a last-minute goal to tie Real Salt Lake. After going 10 games without a loss, the Galaxy have lost back-to-back games with Landon Donovan away on international duty, last week falling at San Jose in the California Clasico.
